Are you looking for a new role? The Krusteaz Company is looking for a Sr. Buyer, Logistics to join the team! This position is accountable for the development and execution of procurement strategies fulfilling The Krusteaz Company's (KCO) distribution and transportation requirements. Responsibilities include optimizing third-party logistics (3PL) and less than truckload (LTL) networks, sourcing third-party logistics (3PL) and less than truckload (LTL) solutions, and supervising supplier performance. This role includes a combination of tactical and strategic work focused on expanding The Krusteaz Company's temperature-controlled and ambient distribution capabilities.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
  • Optimizes Distribution and less than truckload (LTL) network cost and service with a budgeted spend of $15+ million annually.
  • Sources Distribution suppliers to expand service capabilities and create competitive price advantages.
  • Supervise temperature-controlled distribution suppliers to ensure they understand and achieve Key Performance Indicator targets.
  • Manages service-exception processes and leads corrective action and risk mitigation measures.
  • Responsible for financial month-end reconciliation processes.
  • Maintains Logistics' service provider agreements and ensures payments are made in a timely and accurate manner. Analyzes monthly expense variance to budgets and determines causes.
  • Supports Sales, Operations and Finance cross-functionally by providing accurate and timely transportation cost and service information.

  • Supply Chain experience, to include:
  • Understanding of warehousing and transportation processes
  • Less than truckload (LTL) pricing and payment
  • Supplier performance supervision
  • Supplier sourcing
  • Strong aptitude for working in systems; experience with ERP, WMS, and TMS systems.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Education and/or Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in business, logistics, or equivalent experience.
  • Eight years progressive working experience in Supply Chain; preferably with two years of experience in logistics management.
  • Demonstrated temperature-controlled distribution and supplier knowledge with exposure to contractual agreements.
  • APICS/WERC/CSCMP/LSS knowledge.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand, sit, talk, hear, and use hands and fingers to operate a computer and telephone along with reaching. Specific vision abilities include close vision requirements due to computer work. Moderate noise, ability to work in a confined area, and ability to sit at a computer for an extended period of time are also included.

Hybrid Work Model: At The Krusteaz Company, we have in-office "core days" of Tuesdays and Wednesdays where all corporate employees are expected to be onsite. Salary Information:
  • An employee in this position can expect a salary range between $79,397 and $130,1998. We typically pay out between $89,000 and $114,000. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including internal equity, experience, education, certification, training, and location. All positions are eligible for additional incentives based on business performance.
