Senior Project Engineer

The Krusteaz Company is looking to add a Senior Project Engineer to the team! The Sr. Project Engineer is responsible for the execution of corporate led large capital projects, project engineering efforts in support of process improvement and process development activities. Works collaboratively with the plant engineering resources for the management of major expansion and modifications of manufacturing process equipment. The Sr. Project Engineer is required to supervise and manage internal and external resources including engineering, mechanical, electrical and general contractor companies, as necessary to complete project work and will need to develop, write, maintain, and deploy company engineering standards. Can resided at Corporate, Effingham, Hopkinsville, Manhattan Plant or be fully remote.

Essential Functions: Other duties, responsibilities, and activities may change or be assigned at any time.
  • Proactively and collaboratively works with plant engineering resources and plant personnel to develop and implement manufacturing related projects related to productivity gain, safety, cost savings, growth and acquisition.
  • Partners with R&D and Sales / Marketing personnel to develop designs and cost estimates to support new product initiatives.
  • Develops detailed "scope of work" for planning and bid purposes.
  • Develops and executes contractor/supplier contracts and bid meetings.
  • Develops and manages Capital Appropriation Requests and spend tracking.
  • Communicates/Integrates the organization on the project from conceptualization through implementation.
  • Supplements plant engineering resources when necessary.
  • Sources new technology and equipment to increase manufacturing productivity.
  • Provides Training and or training materials to appropriate plant personnel on new technology and equipment.

  • Knowledge and experience with the following equipment processes: Dry blend food processing systems, food grade consumer packaging equipment, building construction and building support systems such as HVAC, and electrical systems.
  • Ability to prepare a cost analysis and good root-cause analysis skills.
  • Proactive, excellent time management skills and prioritization in a dynamic environment.
  • Ability influence people in a professional and positive manner.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including high level of negotiation skills.

  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Project as well as AutoCAD.
  • Ability to travel up to 50% of the time and work a flexible work schedule including to plant facilities.

Education and/or Experience:
  • BS in Engineering, technical degree or equivalent experience/training.
  • 7+ years progressive work experience demonstration of strong project engineering abilities.
  • Experience with cross functional teams.
  • Consumer Products manufacturing experience.

Salary Information:
  • An employee in this position can expect a salary range between $97,833 and $161,413. We typically pay between $110,000 and $140,000. The actual salary offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including internal equity, experience, education, certification, training, and location. All positions are eligible for additional incentives based on business performance.
